Words with Jenifer DeLucy, Author of "Seers of Light"

What's your background with writing?

I'm an author and editor, and I've been writing everything I could think of since I was a little girl. My very first writing related position was as an editor for a local non-profit organization in my home state.

What experiences did you have that led up to your creation of "Seers of Light?"

Lots of things led to the writing of the book, but mainly the death of loved ones kind of sparked my desire to inspire and encourage people via the various things that meant something to me. I love near-death-experiences and have read many many accounts of these, and they heavily influence a lot of the book.

I get the impression from your blog and this review that "Seers of Light" has some elements of magical realism. Is this accurate?

Almost. Seers is paranormal, with a deep root in eastern spirituality. It also has a love story woven into the plotline.

What was the acceptance/editing/publishing process like with Omnific Publishing?

Omnific has a lot of info on their website that explains this, but, basically, you have to submit a query letter and summary via email, and then, as with most publishers, if they're interested, they will contact you for more information.

I see that you have a book trailer as well (shown above). Those seem to be becoming more and more popular. Did Omnific put yours together for you?

Omnific did put a book trailer together for me, and I also have an author made trailer, as well.

What has the response been to "Seers of Light?"

The response has been beautiful. I really am touched by the fact that people would respond so well to a book that isn't being sold through a huge publisher. It continues to receive many wonderful reviews, so, I'm incredibly grateful for that.

What kinds of things can one expect to find on your blog?

Aside from personal musings, I update my blog regularly with contest info, giveaways, the latest reviews, teasers for the upcoming sequel to Seers of Light, and there are several other pages including quizzes, playlists, review links, and all around fun stuff. You can also check out my author site at jenniferdelucy.com.

What projects do you have in store for the future?

The sequel to Seers of Light is in editing as we speak, and I've begun the third book in the series, as well. Who knows where I'll go from there, but I don't plan to stop any time soon!

Is there anything else about you we should know?

I'm also a musician, so, I wrote the music you'll hear in the trailer for Seers of Light was written by me, and I've made it kind of a tradition to write a song for each book.
